The app would benefit from being able to backup and restore settings to/from the dashcam. It has the ability to view the camera in 'real time', but in reality it's got a delay of 1-2 seconds, and I can't see why you'd ever want to do this, particularly as a driver. It could be useful if you want to save off a clip while out and about, or to immediately sh are via Facebook etc.

Wi-Fi is another dubious feature, mainly as it's slow to transfer files and although you can configure the menu options, it's quicker to do this directly on the camera. Lane departure and vehicle proximity work well, but I think they'll become annoying after a while, or you'll simply get used to them that they lose their effectiveness. Desktop application allows you to display your route with your video and speed.

This one builds on it with extra features such GPS, Speed, and Wifi. I've had another Transcend Dashcam for over a year, so know they're good quality.
